European/PAL Release of Catherine Further Delayed
The quirky puzzle gamey would have come out in Europe this twelvemonth, but it's now abeyant until 2012.
Catherine is a weird picayune bugger, but the game was largely recovered-received past both the gambling push and the public given that the plot sold very fit disposed its niche. Unfortunately, that public is limited to the Nipponese and N American markets because there was no deal in berth for PAL regions which include the U.K., most of Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia. Publisher Deeply Silver announced earlier that information technology would publish Catherine in those regions this year, but that appointment has been pushed back at to the lowest degree until 2012 at the early.
"We are very purse-proud to be able to release Catherine in all PAL territories as a Deep Silver gage", said Wide Silver Chief executive officer back when the look at with Atlus was announced in July. "Catherine is something unused, fresh and exciting; unlike anything else in the gaming world – a unique mixture of genres. This agreement proves once more that games published under the Deep Silver recording label are not 'more of the Saami', 'run of the mill' productions."
All of that sounds great, but it makes me wonder what the hold is in acquiring the gamy into stores in the Europe. I imagine that the urgent of discs with PAL encryption doesn't take that long. Is there some strange market pressures to handout the game later?
I've reached out to Atlus for clarification and I'll get you know if I pick up anything.
In the meantime, check out Susan Hannah Arendt's retrospect of Catherine.
